Thorly James believes his calling in life is to help those with their heads held low to look up and see Jesus. His parents were his first teachers and model of Jesus Christ and at the early age of eight he felt the calling of God and made a public commitment to follow God through baptism.
Pastor James is a graduate of Farmingdale State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He has held a progressive and distinguished career in the aerospace industry for thirteen years. Being unable to ignore the call of God on his life he left that industry behind to pursue God’s call.
While at Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Thorly was inducted in and served as vice president of the Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for Religious studies and theology. He was also privileged to serve as the president for the Black Student Association of the Seminary and also the Seminary Student Forum. In May 2023 he would have satisfied the requirements for graduating from Andrews University with a Masters of Divinity and a Master of Science in Community and International Development.
On October 10, 2021 he married his best friend the former Akisha Campbell. It is his joy to do life and ministry with her and our son Jordan. Pastor Thorly is passionate about ministry and is looking forward to hastening the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
